My name is Tommy Byrnes. I graduated from University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in print journalism and a master’s in communication management. I was one of 19 people selected to study under the Annenberg Program on Online Communities (APOC), a USC graduate school master’s program in new media, Internet marketing, and online social networking.
I am a media relations specialist with four years experience in golf, basketball, water polo, volleyball and soccer. I want to incorporate the knowledge gained through the APOC graduate program to enhance the way people watch and follow sports globally. Social media and online communities are the future of marketing, public relations, and brand image. This particular field has seen a tremendous amount of growth. It is quickly becoming the most attractive way to reach customers and fan bases alike.
